Torrox - culture and bathing fun

In the south of Andalusia, bordered by the coastal towns of Manilva to the west and Nerja to the east, runs the well-known and widely appreciated coastal landscape of the Costa del Sol. One of its longest and most beautiful promenades runs along its eastern section, with the small town of Torrox in its hinterland.

With an average annual temperature of 18°C, Torrox is eternally spring, and has become the Costa del Sol's best advertising slogan: alwayswarm. This pleasant climate is due to the valley of the RíoTorrox river, which is open to the sea and keeps temperatures mild, while the surrounding mountains protect it from the wind.

Torrox has a subtropical landscape, with its inland and coastal towns barely four kilometres apart, nestled between the mountains and connected to seven beaches that are awarded the Blue Flag every year. The best beaches, due to their good accessibility and excellent services, are those of Morche, Torcasol,Ferrara or El Peñoncillo.

All these attractions have made Torrox a place where thousands of people from all over the world would like to live. In fact, there are more than 3,000 English residents in Torrox, and several thousand more holidaymakers from England come here every summer.
